The National Capital Region Pain Initiative (NCRPI) focuses on enhancing the access and quality of care for pain patients while promoting readiness, restoration of function and relief of pain at the same time as reducing the misuse of opioids. Under the Defense Health Agency (DHA), we support and offer services to military beneficiaries by providing treatment, knowledge, and resources that can help achieve their pain management goals. To support patients, we offer resources and services for pain education and treatment while promoting self-care. Additionally, we offer to healthcare providers and their teams, education, and training programs to increase the quality of patient outcomes. The NCRPI initiates, develops, and implements pain management programs and educational materials for both patients and members of military healthcare teams.
